Introduction to the Indigo Content Management System

The Indigo Content Management System is an advanced way to manage the content of your website via your web browser. Using the Indigo Content Management System you can easily add pages to your website or make changes to existing pages with little or no knowledge of HTML.

The Indigo Content Management System features the widely acclaimed Innova WYSIWG Html Editor which allows you to edit the content of web pages using a simple wordprocessor style interface.

Please note:

Whilst you can access this administative system using virtually any web browser, if you wish to use the Html Editor, you must be using either Internet Explorer version 5.5 or above, or Firefox / Mozilla version 1.5 or above.

The Html Editor is an advanced software application which uses built in functions of the web browser to allow you to edit the content of web pages. Due to these built in functions you may very occasionally encounter unexpected behaviour from the editor or your web browser when editing pages. These inconsistencies are caused by the web browser itself and though rare in occurrence, they do not constitute an error with the Indigo Content Management System but rather by the complex nature of using the browser as an editor and issues with the browser itself.

Using the administration system

When you first login to the administration system, you will see the welcome page along with a row of options on the bar at the top of the screen (the module bar).

These options are arranged into sections for each module of the Indigo Content Management System. Note that if your website has custom modules installed, you may see several options listed.

Your website allows access buy normal visitors and also registered users. Each of these users may have specific privileges to view the site and/or access the administration system depending on the group privileges that they have been assigned.

To administer a module, click on the module name in the module bar. When you click on a module name, you will see a further set of module tasks which indicate the tasks that you can perform for that module.
